Over One Crore Households Enroll in PM-Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana

In a significant milestone for the government’s clean energy initiative, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has hailed the enrollment of over one crore households in the PM-Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana. Launched with the aim of providing free electricity to households through solar power, this initiative has garnered widespread participation across the nation.
Prime Minister Modi took to X to express his delight at the overwhelming response to the scheme, stating, “Outstanding news! In about a month since it was launched, over 1 crore households have already registered themselves for the PM-Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana.”
The enthusiasm for the program spans across various states, with Assam, Bihar, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, and Uttar Pradesh leading the charge with over 5 lakh registrations each.
Encouraging further participation, the Prime Minister urged those who haven’t registered yet to do so at the earliest, emphasizing the importance of harnessing solar energy to reduce electricity expenses and promote sustainable living practices.
“This initiative promises substantial reductions in electricity expenses for households, along with ensuring energy production. It’s poised to encourage Lifestyle for Environment (LiFE) on a grand scale, contributing to a better planet,” Prime Minister Modi reiterated.
