Close Aide of Lalu Yadav, Subhash Yadav, Arrested by ED in Illegal Sand Mining Case

In a significant development, Subhash Yadav, a close aide of RJD chief Lalu Yadav, has been arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with an illegal sand mining case in Bihar. The arrest comes after the ED conducted searches at a dozen premises belonging to Yadav and his associates in the state, uncovering approximately 2.3 crore rupees in cash.

Subhash Yadav was apprehended by the ED on Saturday night, as part of an ongoing investigation into money laundering activities linked to the illegal sand mining case. The arrest underscores the intensifying scrutiny on individuals involved in illicit practices within the mining sector.

According to sources, Subhash Yadav is expected to be produced before a special Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) court in Patna on Monday. The case against him highlights the concerted efforts by enforcement agencies to crack down on corruption and financial irregularities plaguing the state.

The arrest of a close associate of Lalu Yadav, a prominent political figure in Bihar, adds a new dimension to the unfolding investigation. It raises questions about the extent of involvement of influential individuals in illicit activities and underscores the need for stringent measures to combat such practices.

The ED’s action against Subhash Yadav sends a strong message about the agency’s determination to root out corruption and enforce compliance with anti-money laundering laws. As the case progresses, it is likely to shed further light on the nexus between politicians, business interests, and illegal mining operations in the region.
